Volunteering at the Library


Our
Story
Volunteers are the heart of our library and essential for providing books and services to the community. If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by the library and speak with our library manager for more information or download our printable Volunteer Application. Mail Application to PO Box 166, Blowing Rock, NC 28605 or stop by! You do not need to be a member to volunteer or a volunteer to be a member, although many do both.
Front Desk: Volunteers work at the front desk of the library welcoming visitors and assisting with book circulation. We have two volunteer shifts each day the library is open. Shifts are once a week, for 3 hours per shift. All Positions Currently Filled.
​Open Positions:

Snow Removal (New Position) - A part-time volunteer to clear and salt walks in the winter months, for the safety of those visiting the library. Does not require library experience.

Data Entry (New Position) - A part-time volunteer to help with some short-term data entry tasks. Does not require library experience.

Summer Events Volunteers: Assist with our summer hot dog sales during Art in the Park, other May - October events and tasks. Does not require library experience.

Author Talks (Experience Preferred) - A volunteer to help with Author Talk event coordination. Prior involvement with Author engagement preferred but not required.
