HISTORIC CHILDREN'S PEW - This antique children's pew, was preserved from the First Baptist Church in Blowing Rock when it was located in the building now occupied by The Last Straw. It has been generously donated to the Blowing Rock Community Library by local artist Allise Whitworth to raise funds to support the Library. The beautiful painting on the bench's back is a study of an Elliot Dangerfield landscape. Ms. Whitworth was artist in residence at Edgewood Cottage in 2023 and her other benches are valued in the range of $700. This piece of Blowing Rock history will be on display in the Library's Community Room until it is purchased.  Please contact Lynne Oakvik, Library Manager, for more information.
